Susan (shades of H Rider Haggard) insists that I give some background information about why we are taking this trip around the amazing country of India. Sue has never been, but before medical school I spent nearly a year living with an Indian family courtesy of the Rotary club, and have twice been on teaching trips since. Nowhere else has triggered such a profound and transformative effect on me, initially feeling utterly alien, eventually a home filled with people exactly like me (and the rest of humanity). So as a celebration of our retirements we are visiting some old haunts, some new places and exploring together - join us!
