A gentle half day tour of New Delhi today. It’s India made easy with a driver and guide, but still the stark contrasts between have and have not’s is just impossible to ignore and perhaps very sad if we chose to.

Perhaps the best line in Life of Brian was ‘Alright apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads the fresh water system and public health what did the Romans ever do for us?” He forgot to mention arches which every Emperor from Constantine to Tiberius built willy nilly. Here is New Delhi’s very own arch

Onwards to a truly inspiring Sikh temple, where volunteers feed over 10,000 people a day with food donated by the community.

They had a chapatti making machine

As well as the more traditional method
Pakoras for lunch

Then a Hindu temple

Then back to the bubble of our hotel away from the hard reality of life outside, except of course the reality of life is always there.
